Sectoral innovation system is a network of agents involved in production, diffusion, and usage of new knowledge in a particular economic sectoral that interact with their own institutional environment (regulation, copyright, norms, and other formal and informal rules). Basic agents of sectoral innovation system are technology and knowledge boundaries, actors, networks, and institutions. The purpose of this study is to examine the ways in which institutions (formal and informal) influence the innovative functions (strategies, capacity building, financial facility, infrastructures, human resources, and so on) via knowledge interaction in one of Iran’s industrial sectors. We developed a primary conceptual model based on extensive review of literature and unstructured interviews with a number of experts of the field. To develop the final model, a questionnaire was distributed among 230 experts working in the observed industry. We also conducted a semi-structured interview with a number of administrators in the sector. Based on the findings of the survey and interviews, this study presents a new conceptualization to the existing sectoral innovation systems.

Employability is defined as having the required characteristics and abilities to fulfill the changing requirements of employers, organizations and customers; a concept which is expected to replace job security in today's labor market. This research seeks to find out the individual factors affecting employees' employability in Iran's public sector. Based on the available literature the major factors include career identity, individual adaptability, social capital, human capital and interaction with labor market. Research population has been the employees of 36 Iranian public sector organizations who are active in education and culture, social and production sectors. A questionnaire containing 110 questions has been distributed to a sample of 450 employees. The effect of each factor on employability is measured using structural equations and Pearson correlation has been applied to test the research hypotheses. Results show that although all factors affect individuals' employability, interactions with labor market and career identity have the most effect.

New business needs cause the creation of modern methods for competition. Agile manufacturing was introduced in 1991 as the most recent production management approach and based on market need for fast response to changes. Many research has been done about agile production system but there is a deficiency in literature about a total organizational model in agility. In this paper the relationship between the constructs: total quality management, lean production, technology management, human recourse management, strategy and information technology as agility enablers and organizational agility is examined and presented as a total model. At the first stage scales were defined using extended literature review and experts` interviews. These scales were organized as a questionnaire and after applying context validity test, were mailed to all of the electronic companies in Iran. The gathered data were then considered for convergence and validity using explanatory and confirmatory factor analysis, and also considered as far as reliability using Cronbach coefficient. Finally Hypotheses were tested using valid and reliable scales. Results show that the most relevant constructs for agility are total quality management, lean production and technology management, and coordination between these constructs is significantly related to agility.

Relationship between Quality of Corporate Governance and Corporate Performance in Tehran Stock Exchange

Due to the agency problem, managers may not use company resources to increase shareholders’ value. Experts believe that improving corporations' governance is the best way to solve this problem. Corporate governance includes those criteria which increase decentralization of corporate controls and through which the power of managers to trace their own benefits will be reduced and it also improves corporate performance. The purpose of this research proposal is to rate corporate governance of firms and to investigate the effect of that on the corporate performance. To proxy quality of governance, we propose the construction of a governance index (GOV-I) for the companies compounding the sample. This governance index includes 25 different corporate governance criteria. These criteria are grouped into three governance category indices, which are then combined to produce a single overall index. These three categories are transparency, board structure and ownership structure. We collected data from 90 firms in the fiscal year 1385 and tested the hypothesis with regression method. The result shows that there is not a meaningful relationship between quality of governance and corporate performance.

Delphi application in solicitation of qualitative risk factors for estimation of a perceived probability of default: Case of Karafarin Bank

Unreliability of financial statements in Iran has urged this country’s financial services industry management to manipulate practices by which they could gain reliable risk scores for borrowers. This research extracts the most influential qualitative factors that would impact the default of a business relationship borrower. Solicitation of the factors is done through Delphi methodology. The mean weight of each factor is then calculated from grades given to each factor by the experts. As a case study, lending relationships of a private bank, Karafarin Bank (KB), and hundreds of its relationship borrowers , are examined and the credit committee of the bank is asked to rate these companies according to the extracted attributes found by this research through Delphi method. The qualitative risk score of these companies are then derived and it is shown how this score could be used for estimation of a perceived default probability of customers
