Identification and extraction of the components of business process management governance using the Meta-synthesis method

Abstract

Business process management is a widely known approach focused on aligning processes of an organization in order to achieve improved efficiency and client satisfaction. Business process management governance is a set of guidelines and processes that aimed to organizing all of BPM activities and initiatives. The purpose of this study is to identify the components of BPM governance. To achieve this end, a survey was conducted among 12 academics and 18 organizational experts. A meta-synthesis method was applied in order to identify the components. To examine the components we used the binominal distribution. The findings show priorities are: project prioritization, governance, organizational structure, support, evaluation mechanism (and rewards), standards, overall objectives, tasks, roles, responsibilities, best practices and services respectfully.
