Job burnout: A study in Haffar Naft-e Jonoub Company

Abstract

Job burnout is a term used to describe resulting negative fluctuations in attitudes, morale and behaviors due to the job distress, working conditions and career predicaments. The aim of this study is to measure the degree and dimensions of job burnout in the Haffar Naft- e Jonoub Company. To this end, a survey was conducted covering a randomly stratified sample of 454 employees for different organizational ranks including workers, staff, technicians, specialists and supervisors. Findings indicate that there is a significant relationship between organizational ranks and job burnout dimensions in the company. This results are consistent with previous studies done by several other researchers from western countries.
