Abstract

New business needs cause the creation of modern methods for competition. Agile manufacturing was introduced in 1991 as the most recent production management approach and based on market need for fast response to changes. Many research has been done about agile production system but there is a deficiency in literature about a total organizational model in agility. In this paper the relationship between the constructs: total quality management, lean production, technology management, human recourse management, strategy and information technology as agility enablers and organizational agility is examined and presented as a total model. At the first stage scales were defined using extended literature review and experts` interviews. These scales were organized as a questionnaire and after applying context validity test, were mailed to all of the electronic companies in Iran. The gathered data were then considered for convergence and validity using explanatory and confirmatory factor analysis, and also considered as far as reliability using Cronbach coefficient. Finally Hypotheses were tested using valid and reliable scales. Results show that the most relevant constructs for agility are total quality management, lean production and technology management, and coordination between these constructs is significantly related to agility.
